Selinda Camp is situated in northern Botswana’s 300,000 acre unfenced Selinda Reserve.
The camp overlooks the Selinda Spillway, a unique seasonal waterway which links the
Okavango Delta with the wildlife rich floodplains of the Linyanti marshes. The camp’s nine
large luxury tents are built on raised wooden decks, under thatch with en-suite facilities,
each with wonderful views onto the wildlife filled floodplains in front of camp. The main
area, lounge and bar is raised on wooden decking under thatch, offering both indoor and
under-the-stars dining.
There is a pool and under shady trees is the photo and art gallery that doubles as a quiet
reading area. This is built above the camp’s wine cellar and craft shop. Wildlife activities
revolve around morning, afternoon and night drives in custom-built open 4x4 Land Cruisers.
Short walks and boating excursions are also offered. The Selinda is an all-year round wildlife
viewing destination with large concentrations of buffalo, antelope, lechwe, giraffe, zebra,
kudu, cheetah, wild dog, lion and leopard with great birding. Selinda is most famous for its
enormous elephant concentrations which can build up to around 9000 animals in the height
of the dry season. By 2009, Selinda Camp will be completely “green”and all its electricity
will come from the sun and from wind power.
