Gunns ConcessionIntoduction This busy little concession offers mokoro canoe and walking safaris only. The prime advantage is that some of the lodges accept children, which is quite unusual in Okavango.
This is one of the oldest game-viewing concession areas and lodges such as Gunns and Oddballs were amongst the first to pioneer mokoro trips into the Okavango Delta. But the world moves on and compared to the wonderful concessions and lodges elsewhere, this area seems rather busy and the lodges second rate. As we always say about safari in Botswana ... if you cannot afford the good lodges, then head elsewhere, because here even the mediocre and poor lodges are pricey
The camp is extremely basic by Okavango standards and functions primarily as an overnighting spot for guests going out in mokoros on camping trips into the delta. This is just too low quality and too risky for us to recommend. Xigera Mokoro Trail or Kanana Mokoro Trail are both more expensive than this, but are the real deal
