Chitabe Lediba (Trails)

An excellent game viewing camp, no water activities are offered at Chitabe Lediba

Like Main Camp next door, the experience here at Chitabe Trails is much elevated by the presence of two sleep-out hides on the concession

The camp itself is simpler and has a more laid back atmosphere than its neighbour and is therefore suited to a more outdoorsy type of guest. Same price for both lodges though

Chitabe Lediba, lying adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve, is located on the same island
as its sister, Chitabe Camp. It is smaller and just right as a private camp. Accommodation
consists of five spacious Meru-style tents, built on raised decks and with the same
luxurious interiors as Chitabe. En-suite bathrooms complement the outdoor shower
“with a view.”There are also two family tents, with adjoining bedrooms and an en-suite
bathroom. A dining area, lounge and pool have glorious views over the surrounding
floodplains and a small lediba (remnant lagoon waterhole), where game comes to drink
during the day.
The diversity of habitat in the area –flooded grasslands, wooded islands and still lagoons
–provides a wide variety of wildlife, such as elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, tsessebe,
buffalo, impala, zebra and hippo. Wild dogs , one of the Okavango’s rarer denizens, can
also be sighted. Wildlife viewing is hence the major activity at this camp, whether on
walks, or day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, accompanied by an experienced
guide. Two hides can be used as a “sleep out”experience as well as a game viewing
platform during the day.
