Chitabe Main Camp

A excellent luxurious 8-roomed tented camp built on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta

two excellent sleep-out hides, which can be accessed by vehicle or as part of a walking trail.

There is also a separate dining area where groups of guests can splinter off for private meals.

Game Viewing

The area is a combination of open grasslands, acacia-forest and shallow waterways. Game viewing is varied from the lush green period after the rains to the dry winter months. Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Warthog, Lechwe, Hippo, Giraffe, Leopard, Cheetah, Tsessebe are found throughout the year.

Wild Dogs den in June and pups might be seen in mid to late July. The plains game numbers in the area peak during the dry season. June to October

Electricity & Water

· Camp has 220v generator powered electricity that runs for 7hrs per day when guests are out on activities. When guests return from daily activities, generators generally switched off (for peace in camp).
· Inverter System is used for lighting and fans in each guest tent 24hrs/day.
· Plug points are available in each tent, and the office, for charging of video batteries only. Hence bring spare battery, charging unit and adaptors.
· Electricity heater water.

Getting There

To/from Maun 20 minutes
To/from Kasane 1hr 20 minutes but allow additional time for customs and immigration.
