Chobe is Botswana's 2nd largest park with one of the greatest
concentrations of game in Africa

covering some 10 566 sq. kms - northern Botswana
Geography
4 distinct eco systems are found in Chobe.
Serondela with its lush plains and dense forests
in the Chobe River area in the extreme north-east;
the Savuti Marsh in the west about fifty kilometres north of Mababe
gate;
the Linyanti Swamps in the north-west and the hot dry hinterland

Accommodation
Public camping grounds are situated at Ihaha,
Savuti and Linyanti with toilet and shower facilities available.
Visitors travelling through the park should
remember that this is essentially a wilderness
area and no services are available between
Kasane and Maun.
It is wise to carry basic safety items such as
water, food, fuel, torches, extra wheels, tools, jacks and pumps.
In all public camping grounds booking for
campsites is essential.

Road
Conditions - Many of the access tracks
that lead to the park and within the park are rough and sandy.
4 x 4 vehicles are essential.
Getting There
- by air
by road : Kasane is readily accessible by tarred
road from South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
A bridge crosses the Chobe river from Botswana to Namibia at Ngoma
There is a ferry crossing the Zambezi between Zambia and Botswana
or alternatively you can
cross into Capivi and use the Schuckmansburg bridge across the
Zambezi river into Zambia.
Kasane is reached by tarred road from Victoria Falls (80km).
There are daily road transfers between Kasane and Victoria
Falls or airport
For Namibian visitors the tarred road route from Windhoek is either
through Gobabis to Ghanzi in
Botswana and on to Maun, then Nata and finally Kasane
OR through Rundu and the Caprivi Strip - Ngoma
