Location
on the north-eastern side of Namibia, ending at the border fence
between Namibia and Botswana
Geography
The park covers an area of 3842 sq. kms
dissected by Kalahari dunes overgrown with dry forest of varying
height
Patches of deep Kalahari sand make it difficult to negotiate
in places which probably contributes to the fact that Khaudom
remains one of Namibia’s almost untouched areas.
There are many types of rare wood among the deciduous trees e.g.
Kiaat and Manketti.
They are subterranean river courses which fill with surface water
only during the rainy season |
