Location :
situated along the upper Zambezi
stretching approx. 12 kms from and including the Victoria Falls
Most of the area around the Falls and along the Zambezi is in
the Mosi-O-Tunya National Park. You can expect too see some animals,
especially elephants. It is advisable to take care when driving
at night along the Falls road – animals are difficult to
see at night.
A small fenced off area, known as the Game Park, is the home
to the only rhinos in Zambia. Entrance to this area of the Park
is US$10 per person.
Wildlife / Birdlife
- Elephants cross the Zambezi river and
can be found walking freely through the park and surrounding areas.
White rhino, numerous antelope species,
zebra, giraffe, warthog as well as a variety
of birds and small animals.

Apart from the animals and birds to be seen (drives and walks
can be arranged) there is an area called the Old Drift –
this is where the white pioneers ferried their goods across the
Zambezi before the building of the bridge.
There is also an old gravesite for the pioneers.
