Location - A 5000 square kilometer natural and undeveloped area surrounded by 35 000 sq. kms of game management area in the south western corner of Zambia

GPS : 23o 27' East 17o 17' South

Geography
- much of the area is very sandy with few permanent water sources

Mopane woodland and mutemwa forest cover a large proportion of the area and there is also grassland, thicket and woodland of various types

Places of interest - Sioma Falls
marking the transition point of the Zambezi Rivers' flow from Kalahari sand floodplain to basalt dyke - the latter eventually contributing to the magnificent gorges of the Victoria Falls

The horseshoe-shaped Ngonye Falls are impressive because of the sheer volume of water that cascades over the staggered twenty metre drop.

An interesting aspect is that the river flows underneath the rock on either side of the falls.
